A man in England was pulled over for suspected drunk driving, but avoided taking a breathalyzer test by beating himself up.
Steven Andrews reportedly realized that if he took the test, he would fail and be charged with drunk driving.
He punched himself repeatedly in the face, head-butted doors, and ran head first into a wall.
Surprisingly, it worked. Andrews was so injured that police could not administer the test, and they could not acquire the hard evidence needed for a drunk-driving conviction.
He did not get off free, though. In court, Andrews was given the maximum sentence without the breathalyzer evidence: his license was suspended for three years.
